Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is with great pleasure and sincere excitement that I extend my invitation to you to participate in the upcoming multidisciplinary conference on "Anthropology in the Anthropocene: Investigating Human Influences on the Global Ecosystem." This conference, organized by the EAA in collaboration with the International Society for the Study of Human Growth and Clinical Auxology (ISGA), will be held in the beautiful city of Zagreb, Croatia from September 5 to 8, 2024.

I believe that your presence and participation will greatly contribute to the success of this conference. We aim to bring together professionals and researchers from diverse fields, including biological anthropology, medicine, healthcare, and related disciplines. By fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, we can gain a deeper understanding of the complex challenges and opportunities posed by human influences on our planet in the Anthropocene era.

Under the overarching theme of "Anthropology in the Anthropocene," we will explore a wide range of innovative research themes and approaches to better understand human beings as an integral part of the global ecosystem. Additionally, we will delve into sessions focused on key domains of biological anthropology. I invite you to share your research with fellow participants.  Your valuable insights into human biology, evolution, adaptation, and population dynamics will greatly contribute to our collective understanding and foster meaningful discussions.

The conference will be held in a hybrid manner, allowing participants to attend both on-site and online. This format ensures flexibility and accessibility for all attendees, regardless of their location or travel limitations. Whether you choose to join us physically in Zagreb or participate virtually, your presence and contribution will be highly valued. Furthermore, I am pleased to inform you that the EAA has prepared financial support for students who are members of the EAA and will be giving a presentation on-site. This financial support will cover the registration fee, and detailed rules and guidelines can be found on our website.

I kindly request your assistance in sharing this invitation with individuals in your network who may be interested in participating or presenting at this conference. Together, we can create a vibrant and diverse community of researchers and practitioners dedicated to understanding and addressing the challenges of the Anthropocene.

For detailed information regarding the conference, including registration details, submission guidelines, and important dates, please visit our websites: the European Anthropological Association (EAA) website and the conference website. If you have any questions or require further assistance, please feel free to contact our dedicated team. We are here to ensure a smooth and enriching experience for all participants.

Thank you for your attention, and I eagerly look forward to welcoming you and your colleagues to this multidisciplinary conference. Let us collectively explore, discover, and contribute to our understanding of human influences on the global ecosystem, while also sharing our valuable research within the key domains of study in biological anthropology.

With kind regards,

Maria Kaczmarek

EAA President
